Shu Fa, Chinese calligraphy, is very interesting. Every character has its meaning. It can lead you into a story or teaching in the bible.
For example, “義”(righteousness)the upper part is one character “羊”(sheep), the bottom one is “我”(me). When the sheep is on the head, that means we put our Lord Christ Jesus first, it is righteous way we must do. If we take away the sheep, then only the “我”(me)left, it is a self-center way people usually do, but not a righteous way that pleased God. Or “船”(boat), it can be divided into 3 part: “舟”(ark), “八”(eight), “口”(people). It shows the story of : when God used the flood to destroy the world, He saved eight people of the house of Noah by the ark.
Generally speaking, there are 5 kinds of calligraphy, the ones I used to do Kai Shu & Li Shu are more orderly and easier to read and recognize. I think when people read the verse they can think of the wonders of God’s mighty hand. He gave wisdom to people that they are so creative that amazing character. And the people used these characters to express their love, thanksgiving to Him.
Shu Fa, Chinese calligraphy is used Mao Bi to write. They are different kinds big and small for different size of character used. Black ink is the necessarily in calligraphy.
